Caprese Grilled Cheese Recipe

Taste of Italy sandwiched between perfectly buttery slices of bread.

2 slices of fresh white bread or sourdough
100 g of fresh mozzarella cut into thin slices
3 to 4 sliced of fresh tomato
1 tbsp chopped fresh basil
Arqa black pepper to taste
2 tsp extra virgin olive oil or 1 tbsp butter

All ingredients are available at Foodhall stores


  1. Layer one slice of bread with sliced mozzarella, tomatoes and basil. Season with crushed black pepper. Top it with the second slice of bread.
  2. Drizzle olive oil or butter in a non-stick pan or skillet. Swirl the pan around to coat the pan evenly with oil.
  3. Gently lay down the prepared sandwich and cook on both sides till the cheese has melted and bread has turned golden brown.
  4. Take it off the heat and cut into triangles. Serve immediately with some pesto.
