The Macro Benefits of Microgreens Recipe

Team Foodhall

These nutrient and flavour-packed mini versions of full-grown vegetables

make a versatile addition to any recipe.

What are they?

Microgreens are essentially seedlings of vegetables and herbs with concentrated nutrient content. You can get microgreen versions of everything, from herbs to leafy greens and root vegetables.

Why should I use them?

Their vibrancy and delicateness give any dish that coveted pop of colour and crunch. But these pretty little things are also powerhouses of antioxidants, polyphenols and minerals such as potassium, zinc and iron. They are much more nutritionally-dense than their mature counterparts, making them a great addition to your diet.

What do they taste like?

Microgreens are absolutely delicious. Just as they are packed with nutrients, they are packed with complex flavours. You can add the zing of radish microgreens, the nuttiness of sunflower microgreens and the crunch and colour of beetroot microgreens to salads, pastas, sandwiches and one-pot dinners.

Take home a tray of microgreens from our Fresh Garden and start your own microgreen windowbox at home! Find it at a Foodhall near you.
